Tried to wake up early to make it to the Tsukiji Market. It's the largest wholesale market in Japan that sells fresh foods, especially fish. Took us a while to find the place. At first, all we could find were warehouses.

Finally found it:

Found a great tiny restaurant in the market to eat. The owner was amazing. He was very friendly and was teaching us some Japanese. Even had some lessons pre-written to give away to customers like us.

Stepped to Ginza to shop at UNIQLO, a Japanese clothing brand. I bought stuff from this store in New York and it was a must to visit the flagship store in Ginza. Walked out of here with lots of new gear.

Wasn't done shopping yet, make my way back to Electric City to find me an iPhone. Speak Japanese? Nope, but no problem. Was able to negotiate a lower price and I'm now the owner of a new iPhone 3GS. w00t w00t

Hot spring in the evening at Oedo Onsen Monogatari located in Odaiba, near Tokyo Bay. Yes, clothing cannot be worn in the baths, you must be naked with the other peeps. No, it wasn't unisex baths, there was a men only section and a women only section. Too bad, I was hoping to find a unisex hot spring place.

Choose your "Yukata":

Made my choice:

On with the Japanese garment:

wow, this looks like fun! one question...how come you guys were wearing Yukatas?
ReplyDeleteThe hot spring place we went to required it. You wear nothing but your undies under the Yukata when you are inside the place. Then you take everything off when you enter the hot spring bath.
