Monday August 31 - Nakamise, Sensoji Temple, Electric City, Shinjuku

It was raining all day today so I didn't get a chance to take many pics. Plus I was carrying some souvenirs and an umbrella around all day.

Strolled through Nakamise, which is filled with small shops, before going to the temple. Ate a fish shaped pastry and bought some souvenirs.

Sensoji Temple. The oldest temple in Tokyo is said to have been built in 628.

Searched Electric City for an iPhone. Electric City is the electronic section of town where electronic stores line the streets.

In the evening, walked the district of entertainment called Shinjuku.

Making takoyaki balls. The balls are made of diced octopus and mixed with pickled ginger and green onion. It is fried in a special pan, then finished off with a drizzling of mayonnaise and a sprinkling of shaved dried bonito and aonori (seaweed).
