Monday August 24 - Big Buddha, The Peak Tower, Damn Hot Pot

While in Hong Kong, we rode the MTR (Mass Transit Railway) all over the city. Riders are protected from the subway cars and tracks by glass walls and doors. The glass doors open after the car arrives and aligns:

The subway car is basically one long car. If you look closely at this pic, you can see all the way down to the end of the car:

Love this sign found in one of the cars:

Visited the Big Buddha. The cable car to the top of the mountain was in repairs so we took the bus.

Reached the top in about 40 minutes and as soon as you get off the bus, the Big Buddha can be seen:

Have to climb 268 steps in order to reach the Buddha:

View down from one of the top steps:

Finally reached the top:

Two fun pics of the day, bla bla bra!

Had hot pot for dinner and I think I got food poisoning. I didn't eat anything for the next 2+ days and just drank water. I was so sick and just posting these pics is making me sick again. Damn hot pot, never again!

Next stop, the Peak Tower to see the view of Hong Kong and Kowloon but first we passed the Bank of China Tower:

Took the Peak Tram to the top:

The Peak Tower:

Sky Terrace at the top of the Peak Tower. Yesterday we saw Hong Kong from the Kowloon side. Today we see Kowloon and Hong Kong from the Hong Kong side.
